1. 1. Từ vựng theo chủ đề (Unit 6–10)

   • Unit 6 · Gender Equality

     gender equality, discrimination, stereotype, equal opportunities, workforce, surgeon, pilot, encourage, qualified, treat equally.

   • Unit 7 · Viet Nam and International Organisations

     the UN, UNICEF, WHO, WTO, ASEAN, member, organisation, promote, aim, peacekeeping, economic growth, poverty.

2. 2. Ngữ pháp Unit 6–8

   • Bị động với động từ khuyết thiếu (Unit 6)

     S + modal (can, should, must, will, may) + be + V3. VD: Women should be given equal opportunities. Housework can be shared by all family members.

   • So sánh hơn & so sánh nhất (Unit 7)

     • So sánh hơn

       adj-er + than / more + adj + than. VD: This task is more difficult than that one. Life is better than it was 30 years ago.

     • So sánh nhất

       the + adj-est / the most + adj. VD: The UN is the largest international organisation in the world.

     • Dạng bất quy tắc

       good → better → the best; bad → worse → the worst; far → farther/further; much/many → more → the most; little → less → the least.

   • Mệnh đề quan hệ (Unit 8)

     • Xác định

       Không dấu phẩy; who / which / that; có thể bỏ đại từ làm tân ngữ. VD: Students who study online need self-discipline.

     • Không xác định

       Có dấu phẩy, không dùng that. VD: Blended learning, which combines online and classroom lessons, is popular.

     • whose, where, when

       whose + N: sở hữu; where: nơi chốn; when: thời gian. VD: This is the school where I study. I remember the day when we met.

3. 3. Ngữ pháp Unit 9–10

   • Câu tường thuật (Unit 9)

     • Câu kể

       said (that) / told + O + (that) + mệnh đề lùi thì. VD: “We are planting trees,” she said. → She said (that) they were planting trees.

     • Câu hỏi

       asked + if/whether hoặc từ để hỏi + S + V (lùi thì, không đảo). VD: He asked me what I did to protect the environment.

     • Lùi thì & đổi trạng từ

       HTĐ → QKĐ, HTTD → QKTD, HTHT/QKĐ → QKHT, will → would, can → could; now → then, today → that day, tomorrow → the next day.

   • Câu điều kiện loại 1 (Unit 10)

     If + hiện tại đơn, S + will / can + V — có thể xảy ra. VD: If tourists leave rubbish, the beach will be polluted.

   • Câu điều kiện loại 2 (Unit 10)

     If + quá khứ đơn (be → were), S + would / could + V — trái với hiện tại. VD: If I had more money, I would travel to Phong Nha.

   • unless = if… not

     VD: Unless we protect the forests, many species will disappear. (= If we don't protect the forests, …)

4. 4. Ngữ âm

   • Trọng âm từ 2 âm tiết

     Danh từ, tính từ thường nhấn âm 1 ('female, 'modern); động từ thường nhấn âm 2 (pro'tect, de'stroy, at'tract, in'volve).

   • Trọng âm từ 3 âm tiết

     Danh từ thường nhấn âm 1 ('family, 'industry); nhiều động từ nhấn âm 2 (de'velop, de'termine, re'cycle).

   • Trọng âm theo hậu tố

     -tion, -sion, -ic, -ity, -ical: nhấn ngay trước đuôi (organi'sation, e'quality, eco'nomic, eco'logical); -ee, -eer, -ese nhận trọng âm (volun'teer).

   • Trọng âm câu

     Nhấn từ nội dung (danh từ, động từ chính, tính từ, trạng từ); đọc lướt từ chức năng (a, the, of, to, is). VD: We 'need to pro'tect the 'forests.

5. 5. Giao tiếp & cụm từ hữu ích

   • Đưa và đáp lời khuyên

     You'd better… / If I were you, I would… / Why don't you…? – Thanks for your advice. I'll try.

   • Đồng tình, phản đối lịch sự

     I couldn't agree more. / I'm afraid I disagree. / That's a good point, but… / I see what you mean, however…

   • Hỏi thông tin lịch sự

     Could you tell me…? / Do you know where…? (câu hỏi gián tiếp: S + V). VD: Do you know where the eco-tour starts?

6. 6. Ôn nhanh HK I & kỹ năng

   • Ôn thì và bị động HK I

     HTĐ/HTTD, will/be going to, QKĐ/QKTD, HTHT; bị động be + V3 ở mọi thì: is done, was done, has been done, will be done.

   • Viết lại câu

     • Câu điều kiện

       I don't have time, so I can't join the club. → If I had time, I could join the club.

     • So sánh

       No organisation is larger than the UN. → The UN is the largest organisation. / He isn't as tall as me. → I am taller than him.

     • Tường thuật

       “I will join the tour,” Lan said. → Lan said (that) she would join the tour.

   • Đọc hiểu

     Câu hỏi từ quy chiếu (it, they, this refers to) tìm danh từ phía trước; câu hỏi suy luận phải dựa trên chi tiết trong bài.
