1. 1. Từ vựng theo chủ đề (Unit 1–5)

   • Unit 1 · Life Stories We Admire

     life story, admire, achievement, talented, dedicate, devote, inspiring, hero, biography, overcome difficulties, pass away.

   • Unit 2 · A Multicultural World

     multicultural, cultural diversity, custom, cuisine, globalisation, identity, blend, adapt to, integrate, cultural exchange.

   • Unit 3 · Green Living

     green living, eco-friendly, carbon footprint, compost, reuse, reduce, single-use plastic, sustainable, energy-efficient, organic.

   • Unit 4 · Urbanisation

2. 2. Ngữ pháp Unit 1–3

   • QKĐ và QKTD (Unit 1)

     QKĐ cho chuỗi sự kiện, mốc đời người; QKTD cho bối cảnh đang diễn ra. VD: She was working as a teacher when the war broke out. He was born in 1890.

   • Mạo từ (Unit 2)

     • a / an

       Danh từ đếm được số ít, chưa xác định; nghề nghiệp. VD: She is a chef. It's an honour (h câm nên dùng an).

     • the

       Đã xác định, duy nhất, so sánh nhất, nhạc cụ, dân tộc nói chung (the Vietnamese), sông, đại dương, dãy núi.

     • Không dùng mạo từ (zero article)

       Danh từ không đếm được / số nhiều nói chung, tên nước, ngôn ngữ, môn thể thao, bữa ăn. VD: Culture shapes identity. She speaks Japanese.

   • Động từ + giới từ (Unit 3)

     depend on, rely on, consist of, result in, result from, contribute to, apologise for, insist on + N / V-ing. VD: Green living depends on small daily habits.

   • which thay cho cả mệnh đề (Unit 3)

     , which + V (số ít) — bổ sung cho cả ý phía trước, luôn có dấu phẩy. VD: She cycles to school, which helps reduce pollution.

3. 3. Ngữ pháp Unit 4–5

   • Hiện tại hoàn thành (Unit 4)

     Diễn tả thay đổi từ quá khứ đến nay. VD: The city has grown rapidly over the last ten years. Many farmers have moved to big cities.

   • So sánh kép (Unit 4)

     more and more + adj / adj-er and adj-er; The + so sánh hơn…, the + so sánh hơn… VD: The bigger the city grows, the more serious traffic jams become.

   • Câu đơn, câu ghép, câu phức (Unit 5)

     • Câu đơn

       Một mệnh đề độc lập. VD: I applied for the job last week.

     • Câu ghép

       Hai mệnh đề độc lập nối bằng FANBOYS hoặc ; however, / ; therefore,. VD: I sent my CV, but they didn't reply.

     • Câu phức

       Mệnh đề chính + mệnh đề phụ (because, when, although, if, who, which). VD: Although she had little experience, she got the job.

4. 4. Ngữ âm (kiểm tra học kỳ)

   • /ɔɪ/, /aɪ/, /aʊ/ (Unit 2)

     /ɔɪ/: noise, enjoy, choice; /aɪ/: diverse, identity, lifestyle; /aʊ/: crowd, now, town.

   • Đuôi -ed

     /ɪd/ sau t, d (dedicated, needed); /t/ sau âm vô thanh (worked, reduced); /d/ còn lại (admired, moved). Tính từ learned, beloved, naked đọc /ɪd/.

   • Đuôi -s/-es

     /s/ sau p, t, k, f, θ (habits); /ɪz/ sau s, z, ʃ, tʃ, dʒ (villages, wishes); /z/ còn lại (jobs, cities, cultures).

   • Trọng âm từ

     Danh từ/tính từ 2 âm tiết thường nhấn âm 1, động từ nhấn âm 2; -tion, -ic, -ity nhấn ngay trước đuôi (urbani'sation, i'dentity); -ee, -eer, -ese nhận trọng âm.

   • Phỏng vấn xin việc

     I'm good at… / I have experience in… / I'm interested in this position because… / What are the working hours?

   • Bày tỏ ngưỡng mộ

     I really admire her for her courage. / What impressed me most was… / He is a great role model for young people.

   • Collocation hay gặp

     make a decision, do research, take responsibility for, pay attention to, play a role in, have an impact on, gain experience.

   • Viết lại / nối câu

     • which thay cả mệnh đề

       He passed the interview. This surprised everyone. → He passed the interview, which surprised everyone.

     • So sánh kép

       As cities grow larger, they become more polluted. → The larger cities grow, the more polluted they become.

   • Sắp xếp câu thành hội thoại, thư, đoạn văn

     Tìm câu mở đầu (lời chào, câu chủ đề), lần theo đại từ và từ nối (First, Then, However, As a result); câu hỏi – đáp phải khớp nhau.

   • Điền từ, cụm từ vào đoạn văn

     Xác định từ loại, collocation, giới từ đi kèm (depend on, result in), mạo từ, mệnh đề quan hệ; đọc lại cả câu sau khi chọn.

   • Đọc hiểu

     Câu hỏi ý chính, từ quy chiếu, từ đồng nghĩa, suy luận: luôn tìm bằng chứng trong bài, không chọn theo hiểu biết riêng.
